The Issue

The company’s head of learning and development was eager to ensure that managers within the business had a genuine understanding of unconscious bias.

He wanted to ensure a consistent, unambiguous approach to people management, communication, inclusion and teamwork existed. It was vital that managers understood the potentially damaging implications for employees and company reputation.

Following a review of recruitment, succession planning and management practices, the company's HR Director established a worrying number of inconsistencies. Some of which placed the company at risk of legal recourse.
