UNIVERSITY OF HUDDERSFIELD

- Why approach Summit?

THE ISSUE

A senior leader at the university wanted to improve his ability to give engaging, educational, and entertaining presentations for a variety of audiences, including stakeholders, partners, peers, and students. Though he had held this role for many years, he had not previously sought guidance on how to present with impact, and lacked confidence in his ability to become an engaging and convincing presenter.

The training itself included multiple feedback loops through observations and video recordings. Scott provided me with a range of techniques designed to make my speaking and presenting more relaxed, engaging and impactful.

- How Summit can help

The solution

Sessions were spread over six weeks, which allowed the client to apply their learning and return to the next session having made real-world progress. We provided seven hours of one-to-one Presentation Skills coaching with international keynote speaker Scott Watson. Topics covered included:

How to avoid ‘Death By PowerPoint’

Structuring presentations for maximum impact

Using rhetorical questions

How to develop a story to engage your audience

How to recover quickly when something doesn’t go to plan

I would unreservedly recommend Scott and his firm to other senior leaders wishing to enhance their public speaking and personal impact capability.
