At a time of rapid organisational change, The Co-operative Group appointed a Summit to deliver a range of consultancy and facilitation led projects in Manchester.

Managing change, management development, team building and emotional intelligence were included in the project. The focus of each event was on enabling employees to feel and perform at their best, despite significant change taking place.

Solution

Summit successfully facilitated a series of hands-on policy workshops with HR Managers and Business Partners to develop shared understanding of how current policies could be improved to better serve employees and the organisation.

In addition, 20 HR business Partners completed a 4 hour Micro Expressions training course which included a pre and post course online competency assessment. With pre course accuracy scores ranging from 3% to 26%, following the Micro Expressions training course ranged from 47% to 88%.

This improvement in ability to accurately identify Micro Expressions in what are often highly emotive and emotionally charged situations equipped the HR team with an extremely powerful, yet little known range of skills which could resolve people issues more empathically, quickly and based on scientifically validated information rather than personal bias and opinion.
